Bite me health nazis...or, a brief break from the world of film

For years now, the people who feel they know how to better live your life than you do have been attacking the fast food industry for causing the "obesity epidemic" in this country. Of course, ignore the fact that Americans are too lazy to get out from behind our PC's, iphones, xboxes or our 70" HDTV's with 500 channels for anything more strenuous than a trip to the mall or maybe to mow the lawn, it just HAS to be cheap McDonald's food thats causing this.

Now, the fitness gestapo is seizing on the case of 17 year old Stacey Irvine. Who the hell is Stacey Irvine? Well, she's the British teen who's all in the news because she recently collapsed at her factory job, due to health issues brought on by her diet of chicken mcnuggets and fries. 15 YEARS WORTH of basically NOTHING but those items. Here's a link to the story....I demand that you look at it before you continue...I'll have a coke while I wait...

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2092071/Stacey-Irvine-17-collapses-eating-McDonalds-chicken-nuggets-age-2.html

Hmm....Miss Irvine doesn't look like what you'd think someone who's consumed what she has for the timespan listed huh? Seems fit, nice figure, bright sheen to her skin....I would have assumed she'd be the size of the Queen Mary by now...yet she isnt. Oh sure, biology plays a role in that, but so does the fact she's a factory worker, a position not known for lack of activity.

Yet, the healthy eating peoples party would lead you to believe that it was simply the evil nugget that did this to Miss Irvine....and while its fact that her diet was the cause of her issues, it was also 15 YEARS WORTH. The occasional box of nuggets and fries wont cause you much concern, ESPECIALLY if you get off your dead ass and do something more active than jumping off the couch and screaming at the ref for his horribly unjust call against your team of choice.

Just remember, Brian Maxwell invented the Power Bar health snack, ran marathons aplenty....and dropped dead of a heart attack at 51.

Now, don't confuse my position here...I'm certainly not advocating the constant ingestion of such foods, but I am saying that a box of nuggets a week likely won't cause you to have issues such as Stacey (or Brian for that matter...)

It's all about MODERATION. Something only YOU control....I'm a jumbo super fat ass cause I eat like a 10 year old and now I'm out playing soccer once a week to get back into a shape other than fat fuck, but that isn't Pizza Hut's fault....its MINE.

If us AND our kids would get out from behind the TV and the comfort of the air conditioning, this false, made up "epidemic" would be history.

Don't let ANYONE else make your choices for you, no matter what. Let alone those who claim to have your "best interests" in mind.

Thanks for your attention, we now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

  1. Well said. Every bit of this is the truth. Moderation is what my mom taught me and will power helps a lot too. It's our decisions that make us who we are. Yes there are unhealthy foods but a lot of things we do is unhealthy . . . are they just going to ban everything now? That would just be pointless. So thank you for this well put statement on people who like to blame things on others.
